HELP HAITI, COME QUICK

Words cannot express the apocalyptic earthquake that stroke the people of Haiti last week Wednesday. Thousands were feared dead as an earthquake swept through Haiti, smashing houses, picking countless number of lives, and rendering thousands homeless. As I watch via the TV Screen on CNN, I wonder what could be the actual estimate of life and properties lost. A terrible lost, a devastating occurrence, this is more an unforgettable story for the people of Haiti. A pyramid of history has been…See More

Who We Are

About Us

Global Aid (GAid) is a youth-led development non governmental organization that is particularly concerned in developing, networking, contributing and enhancing young people to challenge self for sustainable development in her various capacities.

Vision/Mission

About 170 million young people across the globe are still illiterate, with Africa having the highest urban and rural youth illiteracy rates, youth in this part of the world are largely affected and associated with violence, war, prostitution, militancy, unemployment, disease etc. our mission is to provide a proactive environment, connect youth with opportunities, mentors, colleagues and new associates to make the change they want themselves.

VALUES

“You don’t get in life what you want, you get in life who you are” – Les Brown

-People should be willingly involved in a wide range of development activities, as agents and beneficiaries of development. Nothing is greater than the power of people to effect change on their own behalf.
-Participation should be to foster and enhance people’s capability to have a role in their society’s development.
-Youth can be powerful drivers for leading their families and communities toward sustainable development.
-Donation, contribution and mentorship must be adequately balance with structures that promote the effort of the recipient and not undermine their interest.
-We respect the interest of donors, members and grantee. At GAid we see those who effect change as true agent of development.

What We DO
About Mission e3

Mission e3 (Education, Entrepreneurship and Employment) is a project developed by GAid to tackle youth development at the grassroots. See Pyramid and profile below.

Education: We have strategically developed programs for this course; e.g Back to School Initiative (BSI) is design to help the street child, rural youth who cannot afford quality education. At Global Aid we see quality education as a right to a child.

Entrepreneurship: Motivating youth for self development is our focus. The board is concerned at funding and financing Small-scale Medium Enterprise (SME), Youth-led business initiative and any project that will create employment in rural communities.

Employment: This platform is open to companies, SMEs, Cooperate organizations, NGOs, etc who may want the professional assistance of youth. GAid will advertise this opportunities online and offline (web, magazine etc) for youth to read and apply.
